The Plaza Hotel, located in trendy Midtown Manhattan, exudes class and luxury. Situated at Fifth Avenue and Park Avenue, The Plaza acted as a residence for the rich and famous who embodied what it meant to be a New Yorker. Everyone from the wealthy Vanderbilt's to the highly acclaimed author Ernest Hemingway called The Plaza home at one point or another. Alfred Hitchcock even chose the hotel as the setting for his classic film, North by Northwest. For almost a hundred years, The Plaza has been providing it's guests with superior accommodations and excellent service. Rave reviews have been bestowed on the Plaza since it's earliest years. The hotel is also considered a New York City landmark. The Plaza is a five-star, 19-story hotel. Guests may chooses between several different room types. The Central Park Suite is aptly named because it offers visitors a stunning view of the world famous park. A spacious parlor is located off of the bedroom. If extra space is needed a second bedroom may be connected upon request. The Fifth Avenue Suites are one or two-bedroom and possess a spacious living area. Views include the Pulitzer Fountain and Fifth Avenue. The Executive Suites can comfortably sleep up to three people. This open-style suite boasts a lounging area with custom designed furniture and a view of the inner courtyard. The Louis XV Suite is a two-bedroom accommodation that features a living area in addition to a dining room. This suite offers an uninterrupted view of Central Park. The Plaza suites withBathroom in the Suite at the Plaza their two bedrooms and working alcove is ideal for business travelers. The Vanderbilt Suite named after The Plaza's first residents, is luxury at it's finest. Three bedrooms, living room, kitchen and dining room make this an ideal place for families or traveling couples. Travelers will appreciate the in-suite Jacuzzi as well as the view of the Plaza, Fifth Avenue and the Pulitzer Fountain. The Astor Suite is two bedrooms but may become a three-bedroom if necessary. This suite features it's own spa with steam shower and whirlpool. Wake-up to a breathtaking view of Central Park and Fifth Avenue. The Frank Lloyd Wright Suite has two-bedrooms as well as two full baths. The original hardwood floors and three non-working marble fireplaces give this suite a warm and intimate feeling. Wright even called this suite home during the 1950's. Reproductions of his furniture and prints adorn this suite. The Presidential Suite is the creme de la creme. This two level suite boasts three bedrooms, Livingroom in the Suite at the Plazaeach with it's own bathroom. The suite's most unique feature is it's wine cellar. For travelers who opt to stay in the Presidential Suite, limousine, secretary, butler, concierge and maid service are complimentarily provided.

In-Room Amenities

All accommodations at The Plaza feature either king or queen size beds, exquisite views of Manhattan and custom designed furniture as well as wonderful artwork. The Plaza also provides their guests with top-of-the-line amenities. Each room is individually climate controlled. Business travelers will be happy to discover that each suite is furnished with a working desk as well as a fax machine, computer dataport and speaker phone with voicemail. Bathroom luxuries include plush robes, make-up mirror, telephone and hairdryer. The remote controlled color televisions also feature in-room video games. Additional room amenities include mini-bar, safe, alarm clock radio, iron and ironing board. Complimentary newspapers are delivered to the suites daily. Handicap accessible accommodations are available upon request. Roll-away beds may be obtained for an additional fee. Children ages 17 and under stay free and pets are permitted. Certain suites come with towel heaters, VCRs, bed boards and sewing kits.

Luxury Is Everywhere

The Plaza is also home to an 8,000-square foot spa. Everything from Paraffin dips to herbal whirlpools are available. Treatments, including massages, may be received in the privacy of guests' suites or at the spa itself. The fitness facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as treadmills, steppers and weight-training machines. Guests need not worry about straying from their exercise regimen. For those looking for an excellent dining experience, it is not even necessary to leave the property. The Edwardian Room is dining at it's finest. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in this romantic environment. The Palm Court is an indoor café that is ideal for power lunches or a leisurely late lunch in a ddition to breakfast, dinner and cocktails. This highly acclaimed restaurant does requie reservations. The Oak Room is an elegant steakhouse that is sure to satisfy any palate. The Oak Bar is an excellent place to unwind after a day of sightseeing or business meetings. The Oyster Bar is open for lunch and dinner and is reminiscent of an English pub. The Plaza also has it's own beauty salon, jeweler, florist, newsstand, clothing store and gift shop. Valet, dry-cleaning and concierge services are at guests' disposal. Professional child care is available as is a business center.
